Twelve arrested for drug trafficking in Durham, New HampshireAfter a month-long investigation, Durham, New Hampshire police arrested 12 people connected to illicit drug trafficking, five of whom are current Oyster River High School students and two who are University of New Hampshire students living off-campus.
According to a press release, New Hampshire police seized in total, 8.5 pounds of marijuana, 3.5 pounds of hallucinogenic mushrooms, 17 grams of powder cocaine, 1.5 grams of crack cocaine and small quantities of ecstasy and methamphetamine.
Sean M. Gill, 23, of 32 Main St. and David George, 21, of 24 Madbury Rd. were charged with conspiracy to possess drugs with intent to distribute marijuana.
Gill was also charged with the sale of a controlled drug and has recently withdrawn from the University.
According to an article from Foster's Daily Democrat, New Hampshire police made several "buys" of marijuana at downtown locations, including over the sandwich counter at Campus Convenience on Main St.
Both Gill and George were employees of Camp Co. The owner, Harkirat Singh, has not been charged.
"Investigation shows that the owner has no involvement with the case," Durham, New Hampshire Police Chief Rene Kelley said.
Others charged with conspiracy to possess drugs with intent to distribute include, Benjamin James, 17, of Durham, Daniel Zocchi, 17, of Lee, John Rentschler, 17, of Durham, Rowan Leavenworth, 18, of Durham, Bradford Thomas, 21, of Bedford and a male juvenile from Lee.
Leavenworth was also charged with two counts sale of a controlled drug, and Zocchi was also charged with possession of marijuana.
Gwen Jefferys, 17, of Durham, was charged with two counts of sale of a controlled drug, and Sean Fernald, 28, of Derry, was charged with four counts of possession of drugs with intent to distribute and one count of transportation of illegal drugs.
Durham, New Hampshire police detectives are working in cooperation with police departments from UNH, Dover and Newmarket, as well as the U.S. DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration).
All of the criminal charges are felony level, and according to Kelley, those who were arrested have been bailed out and are now waiting for their trial dates from the Strafford County, New Hampshire Attorney's Office. Drug Rehab by County
